How it works

Tell us about it
The form takes a couple of minutes. A photo and a map pin help, but you don't need either.
We take a look
We check every suggestion before anything goes live, and we may get in touch if we need more.
It goes on TrotTrot
If we add it, you'll get a notification, and we'll credit you on its page if your profile is public.

What makes a hidden gem

A place most visitors would miss: a café, distillery, shop, viewpoint, stay or attraction
Open to the public, and something you'd happily send a friend to
Independent and local, rather than a chain

Please don't send private homes or places you haven't been to. Right now we publish places across South Africa's wine regions; if your find is further afield, tell us anyway and we'll keep it for when we get there.
