About the estate
De Trafford Wines is a small family winery on Mont Fleur farm at the top of the Blaauwklippen valley above Stellenbosch, about 390m up between the Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountains. Founded in 1992 by architect David Trafford and his wife Rita, it makes intense, long-lived red wines, as well as Chenin Blanc and a Straw Wine, using minimal intervention methods. The tasting room is open on Saturdays from 10am to 3pm, and on weekdays by appointment.
Stellenbosch: Premier wine region known for Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux blends.
